The Island of Arran is, justifiably, one of the most popular holiday destinations in Scotland. It’s close proximity to the mainland, a wide array of activities, the beauty and variation of the landscape all contribute to Arran’s claim as a quality destination. Our aim is to provide accommodation unique to Arran and to compliment the Island’s natural appeal. There are many self-catering cottages to choose from on Arran but only a very few, can offer five star quality and, even fewer can couple that quality with an unrivalled location. Gran’s Cottage and Reaper Weary are two cottages that combine the quality of five star comforts, with a location that is quite remarkable.
Wonderfully located in the magnificent Glen Rosa, Gran's Cottage is truly a special place to stay. More than 350 years old, this 17th century former crofter’s dwelling has been sympathetically renovated to an extremely high standard. On the ground floor there is a charming sitting room, furnished with antiques and original artwork. The stylish bathroom has a whirlpool bath and over the bath shower. Towels are provided. The kitchen is fully fitted with oven, ceramic hob, dishwasher, microwave, washer, dryer, bread-maker, coffee machine and a full compliment of kitchen equipment and utensils.

There is a dining area, overlooking the garden. Upstairs, there are two quaint, attic bedrooms, clad, floor to ceiling in old pine. Both have a double bed. Quality linen is provided. Both bedrooms have dormer windows which have lovely views of the garden and beyond to the policies of Brodick Castle. Please note that due to the age and style of the cottage, that headroom and space is restricted upstairs. It all adds to the charm. There is a large, secluded garden, with seating where you can relax and take in the breathtaking scenery. The cottage is centrally heated and there is constant hot water. There is an electric ‘multi fuel style’ stove with open doors. Private, off road parking is available for two cars. Located two and half miles from Brodick pier and two miles from Brodick Village. The nearest pub and restaurant is just over a mile away.
